As you may have guessed, today is the day you employ every gram of brain power to jump through the metaphorical hoops also known as Reading and Use of English part 2- open cloze.
Oh, yes! This is the part where you have to (as you call it), "Invent" the word.
However, this is not the case as the text provides you with many clues as to which word you need to use. The best way to complete the task is to read the whole text completely, before re-reading to answer. Then you''ll have a better idea of the context of the full sentences and the words that have been used around each gap.
Overall the main focus of the open cloze (part 2) is that of grammar where you'll be tested on certain parts of speech. Such as the folllowing,
Articles- a, an, the..
Possesive Pronouns / Possessive Adjectives
Relative Pronouns
also prepositions linked to set phrases or phrasal verbs.
